Hope everyone is having a great first week of 2010!

For those of you that have SUPERAntiSpyware, be warned. I've used the program to do a regular weekly full computer scan yesterday and it ended in disaster. I usually use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but this time I decided to use the other one just in case it missed anything. Well, it found a few more things and then it wiped them out. Afterwards, it had to reboot the PC as usual but after that happened, it wouldn't let me log in to my PC OTL.

I tried and tried but no luck. I've searched for answers to my problem on my brother's laptop and found out that SuperAntiSpyware was the root of the issue. When it deleted something that it found, the spyware or the program messed up a registry on my PC. It's basically like deleting a file that you have no idea what it does until programs start going haywire.

Well, my PC kept doing a log in and log off loop everytime I select my account on the welcome blue screen. After reading a couple solutions in forums, I finally fixed the problem. This task wasn't very easy. It took me about 7 hours to fix this. To give you all a little insight on what I had to do, I had to make a boot disk for my PC. So basically, I had to have the disc with a program I've downloaded in the disc drive while the PC rebooted. Upon rebooting, the program opened and I had to navigate through the registries towards my main registry error. Then rewrite the registry correctly and reboot my PC. Luckily, this fixed my problem.

To anyone that comes across this journal, be weary about SUPERAntiSpyware. According to the forums, if you don't have the latest version, this could very likely happen to you. Since then, I've deleted this program due to people not knowing if updating it to the latest version actually helps. Hope this doesn't happen to all of you.
